Living with HIV

Strides forward in healthcare in the UK have had a big impact on life expectancy. That might change how you think about your financial situation and planning for the future. That means what you do with your money needs to change too. If you’d like to talk about what that looks like, book a meeting here.

There have also been many strides forward in Life Insurance. Life Insurance for people living with HIV has been available since 2009, and it’s treated the same way as any other pre-existing medical condition. Just like other pre-existing medical conditions Insurers will want to ask questions to assess your level of risk and do that without prejudice. I can have the discussions with providers on your behalf, asking the questions once and as sensitively as possible, without judgement.

The days of being categorised as being high risk because you’re in a same-sex couple are gone. You only need to disclose details about testing if you’ve had a positive result (or they may ask if you’re waiting for a test result). They ask everyone the same questions and don’t ask any details about sexuality or the history of previous partners.
